The Texas A&M Bush School of Government and Public Service and the International Artisan Market and Cultural Exchange Capstone, in conjunction with several other partners (listed below) have teamed up with DAVA Artisan Design. We are pleased to announce that during the week of March 19th - March 25th we will have several cultural exchange opportunities to meet the artisans and see their products across Bryan and College Station, as well as all over campus!

DAVA Artisan Design is a group of indigenous women artisans from Oaxaca, Mexico who handcraft a world class line of high-quality shoes. With goals to transform poverty to prosperity and sustain employment and economic autonomy in their communities, DAVA Artisan Design hopes to bridge the market between the U.S. and Mexico with social innovation and entrepreneurship. A list of the events is below. We hope to see you there!

The Capstone also teamed up with Vida Nueva, another women’s cooperative that makes beautiful rugs, pillowcases, bags, etc. on a foot loom. They fight for women’s empowerment in their community by hosting workshops and skills development, and also seek to bridge the market between the U.S. and Mexico for their goods.
