The Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University invites you to join Professor Kelly M. Greenhill (Tufts and MIT) as she discusses “The Weaponization Of Refugees” on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 5:30 PM CT at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

Drawing upon findings from the forthcoming second edition of her award-winning book, Weapons of Mass Migration, Greenhill will offer a detailed exploration of the strategic creation and manipulation of cross-border population movements in pursuit of political, economic, and/or military objectives. Both historical and contemporary, “ripped from the headlines” cases will be discussed. The evolving role being played by smugglers along the US’s southern border will likewise be explored as will what current trends appear to portend for the future.
