Community Vote Could Bring New Public Mural to Bryan
Bryan is one of ten towns competing in the Star Spangled Texas mural competition, a statewide initiative presented by Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Texas Monthly Studio in celebration of America250.
The competition invites the public to vote for their favorite town for a chance to win one of three custom murals highlighting the town’s character, history, and connection to America 250. The three towns receiving the most votes will secure a permanent public mural created by a local muralist.
“Public art is an important part of how Bryan expresses its identity and creativity,” said John Friebele, Executive Director of Destination Bryan. “Murals contribute to the vibrancy of our city, enhance the visitor experience, and support local artists. This competition is an opportunity for the community to come together and help bring a new mural to Bryan through a public vote.”
Bryan is competing against Abilene, Amarillo, Beaumont, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Odessa, Tyler, and Wichita Falls. Voting is open to the public throughout February and will determine which three towns will win murals.
Please vote and help Bryan stand out across Texas. Voting is available at TexasMonthly.com/StarSpangledTexas
