RODEO ARENA EVENTS
Bareback Riding | October 21-23
In Bareback Riding, the only thing between the cowboy and the ground is the horse and a thin strap of leather that the cowboy hangs on to with one hand. If that’s not hard enough, the cowboy also has to keep his spurs above the horse’s shoulders!
Barrel Racing | October 21-23
In Barrel Racing, a cowgirl and her horse run a clover leaf pattern around barrels as fast as they can without tipping over any barrels. It’s a very tight competition, with the winner’s margin sometimes being a mere one hundredth of a second!
Breakaway Roping | October 21-23
Breakaway roping is a variation of calf roping where a calf is roped, but not thrown and tied. It’s up to the fastest cowgirl or cowboy to win!
Bull Riding | October 21-23
It’s not as easy as it looks, and it doesn’t look easy! Staying on the back of a bull is an extreme sport. No matter where you are on the fair-grounds, better run back to the stands, this is eight seconds that you won’t want to miss!
Calf Roping | October 21-23
In Calf Roping the cowboy or cowgirl must rope a calf from horseback and then dismount and restrain the calf by tying three legs together for at least six seconds. Often, the cowboy will gallop his horse as soon as the calf leaves the chute, but if he crosses the line too soon, he gets a “cowboy speeding ticket!”
Saddle Bronc Riding | October 21-23
Saddle Bronc Riding is similar to Bareback Riding, except the horse has a saddle and halter on. Now, just because there is a saddle and a bit of leather attached to the horse’s head, don’t think it’s easy. It’s not!
Steer Wrestling | October 21-23
In Steer Wrestling, the cowboy chases a steer, leaps off his galloping horse, grabs the steer by the horns, and wrestles it to the ground. As you might imagine, since there are horns involved, Steer Wrestling is the most dangerous of the timed events!
Team Roping | October 21-23
In Team Roping two cowboys or cowgirls on horseback work together to capture a steer. Both ropers back their horses until the ropes are tight and the steer stops. At that point, the clock stops. The fastest team wins!
Chuck Wagon Races | October 21-23
The Chuckwagon Races are one event in which people can get as much excitement from the sponsors of the rigs as they do from the actual races. The wagons are drawn by a team of ponies, bred for speed and agility, and driven by gutsy people!

Swifty Swine Pig Races | October 21-23

Swifty Swine travels all over the United States, bringing this unique form of family entertainment to their fans. When you see a race at the "Pork Chop International Speedway," you experience something you can't get anywhere else!
