Helados La Azteca

This family-owned and operated paletería traces its roots to Mexticacan, Jalisco, known as the birthplace of paletas. The Garcia family first opened Helados La Azteca in Waco before expanding to Temple and now, Bryan.

Helados La Azteca has homemade paletas and ice cream with unique flavors, along with mangonadas made using fresh fruit and other sweet treats. They also have savory snacks like tostinachos and elotes.

Alfredo Garcia opened the first Helados La Azteca paletería in Waco. His son Eduardo grew up watching his dad make paletas, and when he was 22, he helped his father open a second store.

In 2024, the father-son duo started sharing videos of Alfredo making paletas online and they went viral. Helados La Azteca has 1.5 million followers across social media, 5 different paletería locations, and was recently featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Eduardo also made history as the first paletero named Forbes “30 Under 30”. The family legacy continues in Bryan with newest Helados La Azteca, managed by Alfredo’s daughter, Monica.
