The 11th Annual Texas Symposium on Women, Peace, and Security will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center. Hosted by the Program on Women, Peace, and Security at the Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University, this year’s theme—“Securing Our Nations: UNSCR 1325 at 25”—marks the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, which recognizes the vital role of women in global peace and security efforts.
The symposium will feature distinguished speakers including Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Tanya Henderson, Kayla McGill, and Dr. Saira Yamin, who will explore the progress and challenges in advancing women’s participation in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and leadership worldwide.
The event brings together scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and students for a day of thought-provoking discussions, networking, and collaboration centered on empowering women as key actors in peace and security.
