The Break Room

Blow off some steam at The Break Room, where there are plenty of options for a fun summer outing. This local spot is known for its rage room, where you can break TVs, printers, plates, bottles, and more. Want to get creative? Step into the paint splatter room or the art room, where canvases and materials are provided. One of the most recent additions to the Break Room is the VR Room, which has 10 different VR escape room games to play.

JJ's Snowcones

There are over 30 different snowcone flavors to choose from at JJ's Snowcones! It's run by a local family and has been a favorite snowcone spot in Bryan-College Station for 40 years. JJ's is currently set up in a mobile trailer on East Villa Maria road, with occasional pop-ups elsewhere throughout the week (check their Facebook page for details).

Corner of Time Antique Mall

Step back in time with a classic milkshake or ice cream cone at Corner of Time's old-school soda fountain bar. They use Blue Bell ice cream to make milkshakes, floats, ice cream sundaes and banana splits. They can also make hand-spun sodas!

It's the perfect place to get a sweet treat before walking around antique stores in Historic Downtown Bryan.

Helados La Azteca

This palateria traces its roots back to Mexticacan, Jalisco, the birthplace of paletas. The Garcias are bringing the authentic flavors of Mexico to Bryan with homemade paletas and ice cream, along with tasty Mangonadas, Fresa e Crema, tostinachos and elotes. Since they first opened in Waco, Texas, Helados La Azteca has gone viral on social media and has even been featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show!

Enjoy fresh bagels and summer drinks at Sunbeam Bagels, a popular local spot for breakfast in the Bryan-College Station area. There's four summer flavors on the menu, including the "Banana Float Latte" (house-made banana syrup, mocha latte topped with banana cold foam) and the "Peach & Love" (sweetened peach sparkling water topped with a shot of espresso).

Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History

Step back in time at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, where you'll find different exhibits showcasing how this area became what it is today. See dinosaur replicas, Texas artifacts, and a floor-to-ceiling mural that depicts what the Brazos Valley once looked like. Admission is affordable, too—$5 for adults and free for kids 3 and under.

Brazos Valley African American Museum

Learn more about the experiences of African Americans in the Brazos Valley through permanent and rotating exhibits at this local museum. The Brazos Valley African American Museum is dedicated to documenting the past and present history of the community with different artifacts and engaging oral histories, open to the public throughout the week.

Admission to the museum is just $5 for adults, $2 for students, and free for children 5 and under.

Along with regular classes for kids and adults, DeGallery offers professional workshops throughout the summer. You can join in a one or two-day workshop with different visiting professional artists, with all the materials provided for you to create a masterpiece.

The Queen Theatre

When it first opened in 1913, The Queen Theatre was a single-room movie theater. It underwent renovations in 1939 and again in 2018 (after briefly falling into disrepair in the 1990s). Since then, The Queen has added luxury reclining seats and food service, and continues to show new and classic movies on the big screen.

Matinees are just $7, and evening shows are $11.

Boonville Heritage Park

For another glimpse into history, head to Boonville Heritage Park—the last remnants of where the Brazos Valley began. This pioneer village was founded by a group of six men chosen to scout out a new county seat. The town thrived until 1866, when residents votes to move the county seat to Bryan to be closer to the railroad.

You can learn more about lives of the pioneers at Boonville with replicas of log cabins, informative plaques, and a historic cemetery where the settlers were laid to rest.

First Friday is a 20-year-old tradition in Bryan that brings the community together for an evening of shopping, dining, and family-friendly fun. Messina Hof Harvest Festival

July 25 – August 15
The grapes are in season, and it's time to harvest! Head to Messina Hof Estate Winery for one of the most anticipated seasons of the year: Harvest Festival. During weekends in August, join in the Daytime Harvest or Moonlit Harvest, where you can help pick the grapes, enjoy wine tastings and a meal, and take part in a grape stomp!
